The Story of Zaribari

Uplifting the Legacy of Bandhej Chunari Through Art & Craftsmanship

Zaribari was born with one purpose — to show the world the true beauty, elegance, and heritage of Bandhej Chunari.
What began as a dream soon turned into a mission: to revive, uplift, and modernise the traditional Bandhej art and present it in its most luxurious, handcrafted form.

Our founders witnessed how Bandhej Chunari — a piece deeply rooted in Indian culture, weddings, rituals and traditions — was slowly losing its artistic purity. Designs were becoming repetitive, craftsmanship was declining, and the soul of Bandhej was fading.
Zaribari stepped in to change that.

We decided to elevate Bandhej Chunari into a global luxury craft, blending centuries-old techniques with innovative design, premium fabrics and royal hand-embroidery. Today, Zaribari proudly stands as a trusted name for premium handcrafted Bandhej Chunari, designer sarees, dupattas and heirloom pieces crafted to be cherished across generations.

THE STORY OF BANDHEJ — A HERITAGE OF KNOTS, COLOURS & CULTURE

Bandhej (Bandhani) is one of India’s oldest textile arts — a technique of hand-tying thousands of tiny knots on fabric before dyeing it into vibrant colours. Every knot represents precision, patience and devotion.

At Zaribari, we honour this sacred art with absolute authenticity.

How Bandhej Is Crafted at Zaribari

  • Each fabric is hand-tied by expert Bandhej artisans using age-old techniques
  • Natural colours and multi-dye processes create rich, deep shades
  • Patterns and motiffs are crafted knot-by-knot, reflecting traditional artistry
  • Every Bandhej Chunari takes days to weeks to complete depending on complexity

Our Bandhej Chunari collection includes:
Designer Bandhej Chunari
Gajji Silk Bandhej
Premium Wedding & Ritual Chunari
Modern Bandhej sarees & dupattas
Limited-edition handcrafted Bandhej creations

Every Zaribari Bandhej piece is unique, handcrafted and infused with cultural storytelling.

THE ART OF ZARDOZI — THE ROYAL HANDWORK OF ZARIBARI

While Bandhej forms the soul of our chunaris, Zardozi handwork is the crown that adorns it.

Zaribari specialises in premium handcrafted Zardozi embroidery — a royal craft once reserved for queens. Our artisans spend hundreds of hours creating intricate Zardozi borders, motifs and patterns that elevate every Bandhej Chunari into a majestic masterpiece.

Zaribari Zardozi Work Includes

  • Fine Zardozi embroidery using real metallic threads
  • Aari work with delicate, detailed strokes
  • Thread work motifs for softness and depth
  • Dabka work for rich, textured gold embellishments
  • Marodi handwork for traditional luxury finishing

Every stitch is done completely by hand — no machines, no shortcuts.
This is why each Zaribari Chunari carries the true luxury of heritage craftsmanship.
